Established dance band in the Wilmington, Carson area needs to complete a horn section! We are looking for a Trumpet player that is solid on their instrument. NO BEGINNERS! NO HIRED GUNS!!! You must have dependable transportation, good attitude and able to rehearse at least one day a week (typically Wednesday). Heads of State & the Little Rock Horns is looking for a trumpet player because our current badass brass is moving to DC. The successful candidate must be willing to practice every Wednesday, be able to read charts, have reliable transportation, and not have any drug dependencies or freaky psychological problems. Must be able to follow our horn section leaders cues and direction. If you think you know better, start your own band.

We have upcoming dates at Sticky Fingerz, Cornerstone, the Brickhouse Grill in Jonesboro. And numerous other gigs on the horizon.

As always in band situations, physical presence and attractiveness are a plus, along with the ability to sing. But you can be ugly as shit....as long as you are a helluva horn player.

Baltimore trumpet player needed

We are are gigging band with original and cover tunes that draw from many chapters of the American songbook. Some have described us as a cross between Louis Armstrong to Steely Dan. We are looking for someone who can play trumpet as well as fill other roles such as percussion work, sing background and/or occasional leads. Our current line up is guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and trombone with harmonies on vocals. We play out once or twice a month and practice in Annapolis on Wednesday. We are of all ages and all have day jobs. Some of us have degrees in music. If you are a musician that can play a little bit of a lot of things and want to utilize your creativity, grab your trumpet and come on by.

WOW!! Got your horn section together yet? Pretty ambitious sounding for this area! Anyway, if you're still looking for a trumpet, give me a calll. I'm not a kid, have over 30 years experience on trumpet, 5 years of college as a music major and am interested in getting back into the music scene. Experience? Everything from orchestra to blues/jazz (studied under the late Joe Davis in Tahlequah). Horns? I play a Bach Stradivarius and a 1917 Holton Chicago model (my favorite), and am picking up the tenor sax soon for doubling.

The proper performer will bring professionalism across the board in respect to not only the performance and musical requirements, but also with respect to preparation, reliability, and punctuality, as well as all of the requirements necessary to produce top level professional productions. The candidate will be able to rely likewise that all members of the cast(s) will be expected to meet such professional standards, thus complimenting and supporting the candidates own individual efforts. Creative input from the performers is not only encouraged, but is expected, as we are at our best when every performer is engaged.

Our on-stage performances encompass more than seventeen different acts, are known worldwide and very well established, and have been performing for 26 years at only the finest hotels and venues. This is a unique opportunity offering ongoing work throughout the year. A great deal of the work falls on days and times unlikely to conflict with other performance work you may have. The vast majority of performances are scheduled with great advance notice. This is an opportunity to add significant work to what you already have, whereas everyone else wants you at the exact same time.

* Solid Trumpet player with capability to really play!

This is an excellent opportunity for the right person -- would you like to play Polish music at a festival in China this summer? No pay, but all expenses covered. Other instruments will be violin, accordion, clarinet, bass -- we already have those people. If you're interested, please let me know more about your experience (particularly in any Eastern European traditional dance music) and why you think you'd make a good band member. We'll be accompanying a group of dancers and the performances will include stage shows, parades, and possibly smaller performances in cafes, etc.
